Radiator Network Balancing
The goal of balancing is to achieve a functional heating network where each radiator provides exactly the right amount of heat output and the system operates silently.
When should radiator network balancing be performed?
- When radiator valves and/or balancing valves are replaced.
- When structural changes occur, such as during facade renovations or window replacements.
- If there are significant temperature differences between rooms or apartments, or if the heating network makes hissing or disturbing noises.
The implementation of the balancing depends on the specific characteristics of the property. The scope of the network, pipe sizing, and the type of radiator network all influence how the balancing is carried out and which components are selected.
The most common type is the traditional radiator network, the so-called 2-pipe system, while 1-pipe systems and underfloor heating networks are somewhat less common. However, underfloor heating has become more frequent in newer properties.
